Kudos to Irena Bond, Library Manager of the Blais Family Library and Associate Professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on teaching a successful course at the 2011 Meeting and Seminar of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in San Antonio, TX. According to Irena,

“I had a very successful presentation. It was well-attended by pharmacy school librarians and faculty – we were given a smaller room than anticipated so we had people standing in the back or sitting on the carpeted floor.  We received a lot of compliments on how we actively engage students while they learn about traditional and online consumer health information resources, and critically evaluate a health information web site.”

Irena expressed her thanks to the NAHSL Professional Development Committee for helping to fund part of her trip. If you’d like to attend a conference, are giving a presentation, teaching or taking a class, consider applying for a NAHSL Professional Development Grant to help you, too. It’s one of the benefits of membership in your professional organization.
