[Posted on behalf of Lauri Fennell, NN/LM NER]

In an earlier announcement to the NAHSL-list, I mentioned saving the date for an upcoming No Fear Molecular Biology Class that is being sponsored by NN/LM-NER on November 5, 2010. Below you will find the link for registration.

Please note that there is limited space and we ask you to consider carefully if you will be able to attend before registering.

This program is intended for librarians who are interested in learning more about the sciences and NLM resources relevant to Molecular Biology and will include some hands on practice. As the facility does not have a computer lab we ask you to bring a laptop if possible. Wireless access will be available.

We are excited to be offering this class taught by Helen-Ann Epstein and Colette Saccomanno. Detailed information can be found at http://cech.mlanet.org/node/323 on the MLA website.

Enjoy the day, Lauri

I’m doing a little catch up on recent postings in the NLM Technical Bulletin and thought you might be interested too. The January-February issue is full of  changes and updates for a variety of resources. There is information about Mobile MedlinePlus as well as a new Special Queries on Research Reporting Guidelines and Initiatives and a lot more.

I want to point out  a few in particular that were posted yesterday, January 26th. I know people will be happy to hear that there will be some improvements to the Advanced Search page in PubMed, including adding a component to select date ranges in the limits section. These changes are expected to occur in February.

There are also expanded capabilities in My NCBI including the My Bibliography section and the Managing Compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy section.
